Industry leaders discuss the impact of BioPhorum
The BioPhorum Report 2019 is now available. The Report consists of interviews with more than 50 industry leaders and subject matter experts who talk about how being part of BioPhorum has enabled them to identify, address and overcome common industry issues.
It includes articles on a range of BioPhorum activities from organizing to maximize value and fast-track harmonized change, to accelerating progress with regulatory authorities, to how an industry bioassay approach is helping to shape the future.
One such article focuses on a five-year disposables plan that enables disposable components, assemblies and technologies to be utilized with the same level of confidence traditionally conferred to stainless steel. Within it, Bruno Tricoire, Single-Use Network Lead and Head of Tech Transfers at Sanofi said, “I see BioPhorum as the most legitimate and the broadest organization to bring end-users and vendors together, and to steer and ensure that the whole industry is moving toward better standardization and acceptance of new technologies.”
Another explores the results achieved by a consortium with BioPhorum and PDA to accelerate the industry toward a consensus and response to the EU’s directive in Annex1 that pre-use, post-sterilization integrity tests (PUPSIT) of final sterilization filters are now an expectation. Commenting on the workstream’s efforts Will Peterson, Associate Director of Engineering at Merck & Co Inc, Kennilworth NJ said, it “will serve a great purpose of educating end-users about the nuances and risks of PUPSIT and will drive further improvement in the best practices of filter integrity testing.”
Looking at the newest Phorum – Cell & Gene Therapy – Senthil Ramaswamy, Director of Operations for Cell and Gene Therapy at Lonza commented, “The C> field is growing very rapidly, and with this growth comes shared challenges that are better faced working together.” To find out how your industry peers are doing this, click here or email email@example.com for your copy of the BioPhorum Report 2019.
