The BioPhorum Supply Partner quarterly survey asks biomanufacturers (large molecule Licence Holders and CDMOs and CGT/ATMP license holders and CDMOs) what their view of the likelihood that they will be pulling in physical materials to their manufacturing facilities – will it be more material or less than they did for the baseline of Q1 2023. This allows supply partners to be ready for the upturn in manufacturing requirements for materials. The survey provides members with a good signal as to when that might start to happen helps suppliers gear up appropriately.
The results of the first two surveys demonstrate the importance of collecting this kind of data, as a comparison of each survey’s results seem to show a shift from the first survey that was run during Q2 2023 and the second survey that was run Q3 2023. The shift shows that the increase predicted in the second survey to not be as large and to be a quarter later than the first survey. The survey data is collected over a given quarter and asks for data covering the 4 quarters over the period – so the first survey was run in Q2 and collected data for Q3 2023 to Q2 2024 and the second survey run during Q3 and covering the 4 quarters over the period Q4 2023 to Q3 2024
Our members see this as important industry and market insight and we have even been told that this is the most important signalling that members are using to inform their business.
“The BioPhorum Supply Survey is credible datapoint which enriches our understanding of the market conditions so we can continue being a trusted supplier” said Charles Meadows – Sartorius
Please consider using this survey to help inform the supply chain. Make the supply chain better for everyone and ultimately make sure there are no delays to having biotherapeutics available to patients due to delays on the inbound side to biomanufacturing facilities.
‘The recent inbound receipt survey result is one of the most helpful BioPhorum outputs for our organization. I recently used the data at an internal meeting with good results’ – Abbie J More, Product Manager, Hydrolysates Cell Nutrition.
