Details
The 32nd meeting of the BioPhorum Development Group brought together 200 participants from 37 companies. The meeting’s purpose was to exchange learning on process analytical technologies (PAT) and their application in process monitoring and control, touching on the challenges relating to its use in a commercial environment, potential approaches to regulatory authorities and future aspirations linked to in-line monitoring and real time release.
The meeting focused on a number of technologies including Raman, flow VPE and capacitance and their use in cell density prediction, monitoring of glucose depletion, protein concentration and the monitoring and control of bioreactors. Evaluation of rapid process development and high throughput PAT development and a more general assessment of PAT for biologics were covered for both USP and DSP.
